FORUM POLICY AND GUIDELINES
This forum is moderated by specialists in melanoma, primarily by volunteer dermatologists and
oncologists on a weekly basis. In addition, Catherine Poole, President and Founder of the Melanoma
International Foundation, a melanoma survivor, and patient navigator for 20 years and co-author
with DuPont Guerry, MD a melanoma expert, of Melanoma, Prevention, Detection and Treatment, (Yale
University Press: 2005) monitors this site many times daily. Information on this forum is not meant
to replace the advice of a health professional. It may however, complement the relationship by
empowering the patient and family member with knowledge. If you have any questions regarding this

Guidelines for Participants:
Other users that are not moderators are not medical professionals. We ask participants to
give references for any medical/health information they provide if it is not based on personal
experience. Please only post information that you know to be true and correct. Any links or
information on unproven commercial entities that promote a treatment or cure for melanoma will be
removed. Please know that posts are visible to everyone and you are able to erase or modify as
needed. All participants are expected to treat each other with respect and honesty and offensive
posts will be removed without notice. If any ill-willed behavior continues, the participant will be
banned from the forum.
ADVERTISING & SPAMMING
Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum
email and Private message system to spam other members.
ACCOUNTS
You must register to post and each member is allowed one login account. Registering
with multiple accounts is not allowed.
RIGHTS OF THE MODERATOR
Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate
everything.
